Oakland Fine Arts summer school

Oakland Fine Arts Summer School 2009 (OFASS) is a successful artistic collaboration between the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) morning arts program and the City of Oakland, Office of Parks and Recreation (OPR) afternoon art studios sessions. OFASS offers arts programming for students currently enrolled and attending Kindergarten through 5th grade as of April 2009.

This year’s theme is "Arts Around the World in 19 Days." For a total experience of the Arts.

The Office of Parks and Recreation Celebrates 100 Year Anniversary

The City of Oakland’s Office of Parks and Recreation, is very excited to be celebrating 100 Years of Creating Community through Families, Programs and Services. To celebrate, OPR is hosting an Old Fashion Community Celebration at DeFremery Park on July 25, 2009. Activities include access to the pool, food vendors, crafts, music and performances by local artists and recreation performing arts programs, and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Feather River Art & Jazz Camp
August 17 ~ 22
Over night camp - Jazz camp for young artists or any youth musician who is interested in a week of intensive hands-on Jazz experience. Feather River Campgrounds, in Quincy, CA and is located 5 hours north of Oakland. This camp will expose students to a variety of musical experiences.

Arts camp for young artists or any young person who is interested in the arts or just having fun. A weeklong experience in a natural setting that encourages creativity.
