Broadway Auto Row draws family shoppers from 50 miles away and further, due to its selection of 20 auto dealerships. This 12-block commercial center links Downtown Oakland with the affluent Piedmont and Adams Point neighborhoods. In addition, the area includes Summit Medical Center, Kaiser Medical Center, and a growing number of restaurant, food, and family retail.

In order to create a themed shopping experience in Auto Row, the City of Oakland has completed Phase I of a comprehensive street improvement project. Highlights of this project include a landscaped median and two pedestrian plazas.
