One of the nation's largest visual arts colleges, CCA offers the most diverse curriculum west of the Mississippi. The

Holy Names College (HNC) is an independent, coeducational, Catholic institution with a strong liberal arts undergraduate
program, significant graduate and professional programs, and a thriving weekend college for adult learners. The college

Samuel Merritt College is a health sciences college offering graduate degrees in nursing, occupational therapy, and physical
therapy, and an undergraduate degree in nursing. Located in Oakland's Summit Medical Center complex, the college was
founded in 1909 as Samuel Merritt Hospital School of Nursing and is fully accredited by the Western Association of
Schools and Colleges. In addition: * Samuel Merritt is the only college in the East Bay offering graduate nursing degrees for Family Nurse Practitioner and
Nurse Anesthetist. The latter degree is offered in collaboration with Kaiser-Permanente.
* The college's state-of-the-art facilities include the largest health sciences library in the East Bay, computer learning

Patten College is an independent Christian liberal arts college

the Peralta Colleges at our Berkeley CityLaney, Merritt, Alameda campuses. In addition: * The Peralta Colleges rank third of the 107 California Community Colleges in transfers to U.C. Berkeley.

Located 15 miles southeast of Oakland, California State University, Hayward (CSUH) is a four-year public university
serving nearly 13,000 students through day and evening courses. Baccalaureate degrees are offered in 37 fields and
graduate degrees are offered in 23 fields. In addition: * The campus, which overlooks the San Francisco Bay, is noted for its beauty, its safety, and its diversity. The campus
blends traditional age undergraduates with re-entry students and working adults, as well as individuals from a wide variety of
ethnic groups and backgrounds. Over 700 students live within walking distance of the campus, while a majority commute by
car or by public transportation.
* CSUH operates on a quarter system (10-week classes) including a full summer session. Nearly 70 percent of all students
take at least one night course during their stay. Class size is relatively small, with emphasis on hands-on learning.
* In 1994, CSUH began offering the first accredited MBA program of any kind located in Moscow. This program is open
to both Russian and CSUH students. Other programs incorporate travel to China, India and Thailand. Interactive, distance
