  CORE II - Neighborhood Preparedness and Response Teams

Learn how to:

  • Utilize basic community organizing principles to involve neighbors
  • Organize a neighborhood emergency response system
  • Set up an Neighborhood Command Center (neighborhood emergency operations center)
  • Create emergency response teams for communications, damage assessment, hazards reduction, light search and rescue, disaster first aid, shelter and special needs
  • Conduct tabletop exercises and neighborhood drills

CORE I and CORE II are taught by CORE instructors at neighborhood sites such as private homes, libraries, churches or schools, and require a minimum of 15 - 25 participants.

If you have an organized group or can recruit 15 - 25 neighbors, please contact CORE at 510.238.6351 or core@oaklandnet.com to schedule a CORE I and CORE II class in your neighborhood.
