Fireworks and BBQ Safety Tips

July 4th is often celebrated with barbeques, parades and fireworks.

  • Don’t leave barbeque fires unattended
• Keep water handy to extinguish barbeque flare-ups
• Do not use fireworks as fireworks are illegal in Oakland
• Attend only publicly sanctioned fireworks displays
• Stand at least a quarter mile away or more
• Leave pets at home as loud noises can scare animals
