Publicizing the CORE Class

Although you will decide the most suitable approach for your neighborhood, the best way to enhance participation is to make personal or phone contact.

When you contact a neighbor:

  1. Tell them who you are and that you’re part of the CORE Program
  2. Explain the benefits of CORE and why its important to be prepared
  3. Give them a CORE brochure or flyer with date, time and location of class. Be sure to include a RSVP contact.

Remember, your goal is to inform your neighbors and ultimately organize them. Not everyone will want to participate in the CORE group, but ask if they have any special skills, equipment or needs the neighborhood should know about if there is a major emergency.
