It is important to understand that your neighbors will organize based on their self-interest, such as protection of their homes, emergency preparedness or neighborhood beautification. In talking with neighbors, identify their self-interests.

Identify a team of 3-5 neighbors that will work with you. Identify skills, designate a co-leader and share priority concerns of your neighborhood.

Organize a block party or social event. It's a great way for neighbors to get acquainted, share common concerns, distribute information and a good time to sign up neighbors for a CORE I class.
