Answering code and regulatory questions;
Processing and issuing permits for building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and engineering
Coordinating with outside departments and agencies for related permits
and approvals, which may be required;
Providing general information and maps which locate sanitary sewers,
storm drains, monuments, FEMA flood zones, the Alquist Priolo (special
studies) zones, and the other engineering and infrastructure records;
Issuing permits to install or repair streets, curbs, sidewalks, storm drains,
sanitary sewer extensions, or other public improvements;
Issuing permits for construction, which may encroach into the public
rights-of-way;
Issuing grading permits and permits to fill or excavate within the public
rights-of-way and to install, maintain and repair public or private facilities;
Retrieval of records, including microfilmed records and other archives for past construction permits
