The purpose of a Zoning Code Bulletin is two-fold. Firstly, it is to clarify or interpret aspects of the written Zoning Code where there has been dispute in the past or where the regulations are found to be vague. Secondly, Code Bulletins are useful to help define new activity or facility types that were not in existence when the Zoning Code was written in 1965. All Zoning Code Bulletins have been reviewed by the Oakland City Attorney's office for compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws and are considered to be clarifications of existing adopted regulations and are fully enforceable.
