MEDIATION OF COMPLAINTS AGAINST OFFICERS
- Mediation is an alternative form of dispute resolution that is available in certain cases.
- Both the complaining party and the subject officer(s) / ranger(s) must agree to mediation, and the results sought by the complainant must be obtainable through mediation.
- Discipline against an officer/ranger is not a possible result of mediation.
- A mediation is facilitated by a CPRB Investigator or the Board Attorney.
- If the complaining party is satisfied with the result of the mediation, a case is proposed for summary dismissal. If the complaining party is not satisfied with the results of the mediation, the case is fully investigated and brought to hearing.
