| Our number one goal is "To support the Mayor, City Council and City manager in achieving your goals for the City through the development of creative and legally appropriate solutions." The City Attorney's Office is organized into three divisions. The Litigation Division, which is managed by Assistant City Attorney Randy Hall, advocates the City's interest in litigation and provides risk management training for the City. The Advisory Division is managed by Assistant City Attorney Joyce Hicks. The Advisory attorneys provide advice and counsel to all of the city agencies, boards and commissions and represent the City in administrative hearings and appeals. The Administration and Support Services Division, managed by Administrative Support Services Manager Rosemarie Sanchez, provides paraprofessional and technical support to the attorney staff, claims administration and budget and fiscal support to the office. |
 |
| Total staffing for the office is approximately 62 FTE's. We have enhanced our staffing resources through the use of volunteers, law clerks and student interns. We have very positive relationships with the local law schools who assist us in recruiting excellent students for participation in our summer law clerk program. Our all Funds budget is approximately $5.8 million. This includes general fund, redevelopment funds and a portion of various restricted funds. This does not, however, include budget amounts from the public liability fund, which are designated for litigation and claim payouts and outside counsel and expert fees associated with litigation. |
