The City Attorney’s Economic Development and Housing Program budget will focus on:
- Providing legal advice and counsel to CEDA Agency regarding the general plan and zoning updates;
- We will broaden our efforts in partnership with the Port to support the development and enhancement of the Port Area;
- The proposed expansion of the City’s business development loan program will require greater legal support, including training to City staff on loan document preparation.
- We will provide legal advice to the OBRA to facilitate its successful project completion at the Oakland Army Base and at Oak Knoll.
- It is anticipated that we will provide even greater support to the City’s housing programs as the City embarks on its 10K Downtown project and continued neighborhood CDBG Housing Development programs.
- And, our redevelopment specialists will continue to support the Agency’s work in our City Center Area and will provide increased efforts and impetus to the success and development of the Coliseum Redevelopment Project Area.
