ADMINISTRATION |

| The Administration Division of the City Administrator's Office is directly responsible to the mayor and the City Council for the proper and efficient administration of all affairs of the City under its jurisdiction. The City Administrator's Office is responsible for: enforcing all laws, ordinances and policies of the Council; attending all meetings of the Council, Council Committees, and boards and commissions; recommending to the Council such measures and ordinances as deemed necessary or expedient and making other recommendations to the Council concerning the affairs of the City; investigating affairs of the City, or any franchise or contract for the proper performance of any obligation owed to the City within jurisdiction; controlling and administering the financial affairs of the City and keeping the Council apprised of such affairs; preparing an annual budget under the direction of the Mayor and Council for the Mayor's submission to the Council; preparing and causing to be prepared the plans, specifications, and contracts for work which the Council may order; making recommendations to Council in connection with the awarding of public contracts and seeing that the conditions of the contract are faithfully performed; coordinating all projects, policies, directives assigned tot he City Administrator by the Council; and, performing such other duties as described in the City of Oakland's Charter, ordinance, or resolution. | |
