| Policy: Members of the public may obtain up to three (3) VHS or SVHS videotape copies of all government meetings that KTOP covers. Requests for more than three (3) copies, customers may purchase a BETA SP to take to an outside vendor for duplication. Meetings that KTOP covers include all council committee meetings, City Council meetings, some city Boards and Commissions. Additionally, members of the public may obtain videotape copies of all KTOP productions. A KTOP production is any program in which KTOP maintains the copyright. KTOP makes every effort to complete videotape requests within five to seven (5-7) working days. There may be exceptions when requesting copies of tapes that have been archived, or for meetings that are unusually long (more than four hours). In these cases, KTOP will research the tapes length and call the individual requesting the videotape to give an estimated time for how long the order will take to complete. The Public cannot request copies of acquired programs - productions for which KTOP does not own copyright. |
| Costs: The cost for legislative VHS videotape is $5.00 and SVHS is $15.00. The cost for KTOP productions on VHS videotape is $15.00/30 minutes, $20.00/60 minutes, $25.00/120 minutes. Since KTOP can only record at standard speed (maximum running time of two hours per tape), meetings or programs longer than 2 hours are charged at the rate of $5.00 for each VHS tape used or $15.00 for each SVHS tape. For example, a City Council meeting that runs for three hours would require two videocassettes to complete that order. The cost for such a request would be $10.00 for a VHS copy and $30.00 for a SVHS copy. |
| Ordering & Payment: Orders may be placed by submitting this form either in person or through the mail with your payment to: Office of the City Manager, KTOP-TV, #250 Frank Ogawa Plaza, 5th Fl., Oakland, CA. 94612, Suite 5354. Orders may also be placed by telephone at 510/238-3566, by fax at 510/238-1366, or via e-mail at ktop@oaklandnet.com. You may pay by cash, check or money order. Make checks or money orders payable to "City of Oakland - KTOP." Customers will be called for pick up once the tape is completed. Tapes may be mailed to customers for an additional fee. Please check with KTOP for current mailing costs. Tapes will be held for three weeks after customer is called for pick-up before they are recycled. |
