Oakland City Council Member Desley Brooks, Sports Agent Aaron Goodwin and the Goodwin Family Foundation are seeking the public’s help to fulfill the Holiday dreams of 350 deserving Oakland children. Brooks and Goodwin will select 350 Oakland children who will receive a $100 gift card to participate in a Holiday Clothing Shopping Spree at a local store.
They are asking the public to help them identify these children. If you are a parent, guardian, teacher, friend, mentor, relative, coach or Oakland resident please write a letter explaining why your child nominee should be selected to receive this gift.
To nominate a child for the program you must submit the following documentation:
Your letter along with proof of residency, income verification, and Oakland school enrollment should be faxed to (510) 986-2650; or mailed to:

All letters and emails must be received no later than 5:00 pm on December 14, 2009. Letters should contain the name, complete address, phone number and age of the nominee (along with contact information for a parent or guardian). No calls please. All five (5) nomination documents must be submitted; only complete submissions will be reviewed. A total of 350 children will receive a letter or email notifying them of their selection. Children who are selected for the shopping spree must attend the event (along with a Parent or Guardian) on December 19, 2009, in order to receive the $100 gift card.
