Holiday Shopping Spree Registration Begins!
Brooks and Goodwin adopt 200 Deserving Youth

Dear Friend:

The Holiday season should be a magical time for children filled with wishful dreams. For some children their dreams don’t always match the realities of their family budget.  Because we believe that children’s dreams shouldn’t be clouded by the downturn in the economy, or their parents’ current financial situation we are hosting the 4th Annual Holiday Shopping Spree.

We will select 200 Oakland children who will receive a $60 gift card to participate in a shopping spree at a local store.  The child must be between the ages of 7 and 15. This offer is limited to children who reside in Oakland and attend an Oakland school. Although there are no income restrictions, preference will be given to children whose parents are experiencing economic challenges.

Would you help us identify these outstanding and deserving children? If you are a parent, guardian, teacher, friend, mentor, relative, coach or Oakland resident please write a letter explaining why your child nominee should be selected to receive this gift.

Please submit: (1) a letter explaining why the child is special/deserving, (2) proof of residency; and (3) proof of attendance at an Oakland school to:

All documentation must be received no later than 5:00 pm on December 15, 2011. Your letter must state why the child is special/deserving.  The nominating letters should contain the name, address, phone number and age of the nominee and of a parent or guardian. No calls please. Only complete submissions will be reviewed. A total of 200 children will receive a letter or email notifying them of their selection. Children who are selected for the shopping spree must attend the event (along with a Parent or Guardian) on December 24, 2011, in order to receive a $60 gift card (NO EXCEPTIONS).
