Dear Friend,

Trees are good for the community in so many ways - I think that every community in Oakland deserves to have beautiful trees lining their streets.

Over the past two years, I've passed legislation in the City Council to protect our street trees from unnecessary removal and I have planted 1,000 trees covering every neighborhood in the City of Oakland. Click on this map to see where the first 1,000 trees are being planted. Click here to see photos of the tree planting in progress.

You can help me to plant 1,000 more trees by filling out this tree request form and asking your neighbors to request trees in front of their homes. Once we receive your form, the City will visit you to find an appropriate place to plant a tree. We'll cut the sidewalk and remove concrete if necessary, select an appropriate species, and plant your tree.

Thank you again for making this tree planting campaign such an overwhelming success. Working together, we can create a greener Oakland. If you have any questions please feel free to call my office at 238-7001.

Very truly yours,

Sincerely,

Jane Brunner
Councilmember District #1
