Windows: Home Sweet Home

One of my first projects was the Windows: Home Sweet Home project to encourage displaying the work of local artists in the windows of vacant buildings. Because of this innovative project, the 30 storefront windows along Broadway have led to new tenants and displays of merchandise. The storefront art displays not only attract tenants, but are good advertising for the artists and neighboring businesses.

All five buildings in the 1700 block of Broadway that participated in Home Sweet Home since its inception last February have been leased. The Union Bank Building, where the works of three artists are on display, will be leased by the Community Bank of the Bay.

The next phase of the public art project will target the seven buildings at Broadway between 19th St. and West Grand Ave.

Be sure to visit the 1500 block of Broadway, and the Rotunda Building at the corner of 16th St. and Telegraph to see the artwork.
