Residential Permit Parking (RPP)

Parking permits are issued to a vehicle associated with the eligible address, not to a person. Annual permits are valid from July 1st to June 30th. Semi-annual permits are valid from January 1st through June 30th.

We have five different types of permits:

1. Regular Residential

2. Transferable Permits/Merchant Permits

3. One day Visitor Permits

4. Temporary Visitors' Permits (a maximum of two, 2-week visitor permits)

5. New Vehicle Permits

Regular Residential

Regular Residential Parking Permit is the annual Parking Permit that is valid from July 1st to June 30th or Semi-annual Permits which are valid from January 1st through June 30th.

Applicants must fill out a RPP Application provide the following documents/proof to receive a Parking Permit:

1.  Vehicle registration to verify that the applicant is the registered owner.

      AND

2.  Utility bill, rental agreement, or driver's license is needed to verify that the applicant resides in the eligible address. A business license is required for business permits.

Transferable Permits/Merchants

A Merchant has an option to receive either a regular bumper sticker parking permit or transferable hanging permit. A business license is required for obtaining business permit, and same documentations are needed as listed above.

One Day Visitor Parking Permit

Visitor permits can be issued to a resident for one day or more. Refer to the above list for required proof / documents.

Temporary Visitor Parking Permit

Temporary visitor permit will be issued for a maximum of two weeks. Refer to the list of document/proof for the required documents.

New Vehicle

A New vehicle parking permit is issued to a brand new vehicle that has not yet obtained a permanent license plate. Refer to the above list for required proof/ documents.

Acceptable proof of residency:

    •  Vehicle registration
    •  Utility bill with name and address such as, PG & E, Pacific Bell, etc..
    •  Rental agreement
    •  Drivers License
    •  Business License

Parking permits are categorized by the following areas:

•  Residential Rate Areas: A, C, D, F, G, I, J
•  Business Rate Areas: A, B, C, D
•  Areas that Do not Have a Rate: A, B, E, H

Fees for each type of permits are as follows:

•  $75.00 per year for all merchant parking permit
    ( $37.50 for half a year merchant parking permit )
•  $25.00 per year for new residential parking permit or for new vehicle
    (issued to a vehicle for the first time)
•  $15.00 per year for renewal parking permit (residential address)
•  $17.50 for half a year parking permit valid from January 1st to June 30th
    (issued to a vehicle for the first time)
•  $10.00 for permit replacement fee
    (issued to a vehicle already with a permit)
•  $ 1.00 a day for a visitor or $ 5.00 for 2 weeks for a temporary permit

The maximum numbers of permits allowed are as follows:

•  1 business permits for merchants (either a regular or transferable permit). The same address can     have more than 1 business permits if the applicant has a different business license.
•  1 residential permit for residents in area F
•  3 residential permits for residents in areas: A, B, C, D, E, G, H, I, J

(Note: area J gets only 1 residential permit for 9th street and 555 10th street)
