** CORRECTION: FAIR MARKET RENTS **

The Section 8 Fair Market Rents provided in Addendum 5: Income, Rent, Utility-Allowance, and Owner-Occupied Housing Payment Limits are incorrect. Please refer to the updated Addenda below for the correct Fair Market Rents.

The City of Oakland Community and Economic Development Agency (CEDA) is announcing a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for affordable rental and ownership housing development. Approximately $13 to 15 million is estimated to be available from two sources: the City's Federal HOME grant funds and Oakland Redevelopment Agency Affordable Housing funds (of which approximately $4.5 million will be set aside for projects located in the Central City East Redevelopment Area).

Proposed developments can be new construction or major rehabilitation, and should be at least ten units in size. A complete program description and details of the application process are included in the NOFA package.

Applications must be received at CEDA’s office no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2007. The City and Agency reserve the right to suspend, amend, or modify the provisions of the NOFA.

We strongly encourage potential applicants to attend a meeting on the City's employment and contracting programs. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at 9:00 a.m., in City Hall Hearing
Room 4.
Time will also be available for general questions and answers on the NOFA.

Should you have any questions or need additional information regarding this NOFA or the City’s housing development program requirements, please contact the Housing Development staff at (510) 238-3502.

The City of Oakland and the Oakland Redevelopment Agency are Equal Housing Opportunity and Accessible Housing providers.
