Shared Housing

The City provides funding to Eden Council for Hope and Opportunity (ECHO), to provide education and publicity for shared housing through its Project Share program.

Project Share assists low- to moderate-income persons with information and counseling on the financial and social benefits of the shared housing arrangement. Project Share staff conduct semi-monthly shared housing workshops bringing home providers and home seekers together for education on home sharing rental agreements, rights and responsibilities of housemates, what to look for in a housemate, and questions to ask the potential housemates. Project Share also assists in the faciliation of shared housing matches, which reduces homelessness and premature institutionalization. In some cases, services are exchanged for rent.

Contact ECHO for more information.
