ADA Programs Site Accessibility

The ADA Programs Division website includes features designed to improve accessibility for users with disabilities. Some of these features are described below.

  • Access Keys: The following access keys are used on the ADA Programs Division website.

Access Key 1 (Alt 1 and "Enter") = Skip to Content

Access Key 2 (Alt 2 and "Enter")= Site Map

Access Key 3 (Alt 3 and "Enter") = Top of Page

      Access Key 4 (Alt 4 and "Enter") = http://www.oaklandnet.com

  • Images on the site contain 'alt tags,' which aid users who listen to the content of the site by using a screen reader, rather than reading the site.

  • A 'skip to main content' link is provided as a method for bypassing the page and site navigation and going directly to the main content each time a page is accessed.

  • Adobe PDF format 5.0 is used which supports some accessibility features. More information about the accessibility of Adobe Portable Document format can be found on the Access Adobe website. To access PDF files, download the Adobe Acrobat Reader.

The ADA Programs Unit welcomes suggestions on how to improve the site's accessibility for users with disabilities. Please E-mail the ADA Programs Division with suggestions or call (510) 238-5219.

For more information on website accessibility, visit the City of Oakland's website accessibility policy page based on the W3C.
