The Beginning...
March, 1993 - Through reorganization of existing staff resources, a Community Policing component was made a part of the Patrol Division. This unit was comprised of a captain, 3 sergeants, 21 officers, 6 police services technicians, and 6 police cadets.
January, 1994 - A federal grant allowed the unit to expand by eight officers.
