How to File A Complaint

If you believe there has been a violation of open meeting or open records laws (Sunshine Ordinance), campaign reform laws, conflict of interest regulations, Oakland's Limited Public Financing Act, Code of Conduct for the City Council, Lobbyist Registration Act, or any other legislation within the jurisdiction of the Public Ethics Commission, you can file a complaint using the form found in How to File a Complaint. Staff will accept your complaint, assign a number, inform the named parties and investigate your allegations according to the Commission's complaint procedures.
