Geographic Information Systems are central information stores for the City. A major component of the City's Enterprise GIS is the central ArcSDE geodatabase which supports desktop GIS users and web based applications. The City's GIS Department develops web based intranet applications to distribute GIS data to City employees via web browsers to increase users access to updated GIS data. By delivering data in this format it saves the City money and increases access to the data. | ||
