New to plug-ins? The plug-in arrives within a piece of software--an executable file--named mp3240.exe, or, for the Internet Explorer ActiveX control, mc40.exe. This piece of software is used to install the plug-in. Follow these steps:

1. Download the Autodesk MapGuide™ 5.0 plug-in installer to your hard disk by retrieving the version appropriate to your system through the hyperlinks on the MapGuide™ 5.0 download page.
2. When the plug-in installer has finished downloading, close down your browser. Now, using Windows Explorer--or File Manager, if on Windows 3.x--double click the download to start the installation. (If you don't know where your browser saved the download, use the "Find" function in Windows Explorer or File Manager, and search for "mp3240.exe" or "mc40.exe".) After starting the downloaded file, follow the on-screen instructions. If you're not sure how to respond at any point, pick the highlighted default (usually, this is "yes" or "ok").
3. Restart your web browser, and go to the Dynamic Maps!

If you are using a 640x480 screen, the maps are best viewed with browser toolbars turned off. To turn off toolbars: in Navigator, go to Options; in Internet Explorer, go to View.
