| Shake, Rattle and Roll...

You probably have read recently that the US Geological Survey is upgrading the possibility of a major quake happening in the Bay Area to 67% within our lifetimes. In the hills, we are especially vulnerable to both earthquakes and fire. |
 |
We are looking to establish a CORE group (Citizens of Oakland Respond to Emergencies) that will include 70 homes on Saroni Drive and stretch from Glencourt to Homewood. In the event of a major emergency, we want to know what we can do for you. Do you have any special needs or concerns Come and let us know. And rest assured that you can participate in this process as much or as little as you like.

CORE I:
At this meeting, a CORE trainer will cover
individual family and home preparedness on
Wednesday, March 27th, 7:00-9:00pm at
2222 Shepherd Canyon.
As parking is limited, you may want to carpool. |
 |
CORE II:
At the second meeting, a CORE trainer will cover how
we as neighbors can come together and help each other
on Wednesday, April 3rd, 7:00-9:00pm
at 2222 Shephard Canyon. |
An important outcome will be a map/roster of pets, children, those with special needs as well as where your gas, electricity and water lines are so if you are away, your home and family will be better protected.
Since there has been such an overwhelmingly positive response, we need to know how many of you will be attending so we can make sure to accommodate everyone. We anticipate 95% participation! Please call either Jessica at 339-0000 (1111 Saroni Drive) or Cindy 339-0001 (200 Saroni Ct.) by March 24th to confirm your attendance. Thank you!
