Hazardous Materials Response - Station 3
This unit consists of highly trained Hazardous Materials Specialist and Technicians equipped and capable of responding to hazardous materials emergencies and incidents involving terrorism or Weapons of Mass Destruction.
Airport Rescue and Firefighting - Station 22
This 6 person unit is permanently housed at the Oakland International Airport and responds to aircraft emergencies, fires, medical emergencies, rescue situations and other incidents there.
Heavy Rescue - Station 1
This unit provides specialized response to technical rescues including high/low angle rescue, confined space, trench, building collapse/shoring, heavy lifting, breaching/breaking, response to private/public sectors special needs, and rescue training.
Water Rescue and Firefighting - Station 12
The water rescue unit includes firefighters trained to respond to maritime emergencies including confined space rescue, scuba diving, and maritime firefighting.

Oakland Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) TF 4

The Oakland Fire Department is proud to be part of this nationally certified Urban Search and Rescue team that responds to emergencies such as the September 11th, 2001 Disaster pictured on left.
Critical Incident Stress Management
This trained team of volunteers provides emotional and other support to peers and others who have experienced loss or may be experiencing undo stress due to one or more traumatic incident.
