Home Fire Safety

This presentation covers: the need for and use of smoke detectors; escape planning; fire survival skills; the special needs of children; the disabled or aged; problems posed by multi-storied buildings or other structures and other problems of fire safety. This program is focused for civic groups, tenant and condominium organizations, churches, senior citizens, neighborhood and block organizations. It is frequently presented to employees at safety committee meetings since much of the awareness and many of the skills concerning home fire safety transfer to the workplace.

Home Safety Tips

  1. Place smoke detectors in each bedroom and hallway.

  2. Mount an ABC Fire Extinguisher in a visible manner every 50 feet.

  3. Post important numbers (including 911) near all phones.

  4. Develop and practice a Fire Safety Plan with your family.
