Etiquette The City of Oakland, Office of Parks and Recreation would like to invite patrons with dogs to enjoy and recreate in the great outdoors, in a fun and safe environment. Walking and playing with your dog can be a wonderful experience, but please do so in a responsible manner, especially around children. Dogs should always be supervised. All dogs should be properly licensed and vaccinated, and on a leash. Please prevent aggressive behavior and comply with all rules and regulations pertaining to dogs in the park. Please be courteous and bring waste bags to clean up after your pet. Please leave personal pets at home when attending events in the park. Animals should not be left unattended in vehicles as this could lead to injury or death to your pet. The City of Oakland prohibits dogs in all wildlife, natural areas, ball fields, schools, playgrounds and parks with the exception of Dimond Park, Glen Daniel/King Estate Park, Hardy Dog Park, Joaquin Miller Park, Leona Park, Knowland Park, *Shepherd Canyon Trail and *Regional Parks. *Additional rules and regulations apply, please contact the East Bay Regional Parks District (EBRPD) for more information at (510) 562-PARK.
