Edoff Memorial Bandstand
Bellevue Avenue, Oakland, CA 94610

Take a stroll along Lake Merritt on Bellevue Avenue and you will come across a magnificent bandstand where in recent years there were weekend concerts performed by an extremely talented Oakland band. The Edoff Memorial Bandstand was built in 1923 and was recently renovated after the damaged incurred during the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.

The Edoff Memorial Bandstand is adjacent to Children's Fairyland which opened in 1950 inside Lakeside Park. Across from the bandstand there is a play structure and a small beach area of the lake, as well as walking and bicycle trails. Along the lake stands the "Necklace of Lights" which were first lit in 1925 during the Dons of Peralta Water Festival. There are 126 lampposts around the lake, each donated and provided for by caring organizations and individuals. The lampposts and 3,400 bulbs shine along the lake each evening.
