Lake Merritt Sailboat House
The Lake Merritt Sailboat House features a striking, balconied glass-walled main room, which has been a long standing favorite setting for festive special occasions, from birthday parties and family reunions to wedding receptions and business retreats. The Sailboat House rests on the majestic shores of Oakland's magnificent Lake Merritt, known for its exquisite "Necklace of Lights," which shines right around the spectacular urban, man-made lake. Set against the idyllic and verdant surroundings of Lakeside Park, the Sailboat House also includes a spacious outdoor balcony with a sweeping view of Lake Merritt. The historic Lake Merritt resides as the first North America Wildlife Refuge and a favorite destination for families.

The main upstairs clubroom is available for reservation (with the exceptions of the Lake Merritt Boating Center office and storage rooms).

For your convenience we offer on-site parking
Parking is $2.00 per car on weekends and holidays. Lakeside Park offers a variety of parking along Bellevue Avenue.
Minimum Rental Requirements
Minimum of 4 hours plus deposit for the use of the facility. Decoration and clean-up time must be included in rental time. There is a mandatory set-up and tear-down fee. The set-up and tear-down consists of City staff setting up and putting away tables and chairs, sweeping and mopping. Rental group is responsible for removing any decorations and placing all refuse in containers.

Lake Merritt Sailboat House is wheelchair accessible. For Wheelchair Access enter the facility through the elevator.The elevator is located to the side of the stairway entrance.
Directions
From Berkeley
Take Highway CA-24 West towards Downtown Oakland and stay to the left.
Take Highway 580 East towards Hayward.
Exit on Grand Avenue.
Merge onto MacArthur Boulevard and turn right onto Grand Avenue.
Turn left on Bellevue Avenue.
Enter the Park Entrance, with Fairyland to the right side.
The Sailboat House is the blue building to the right.
From Hayward
Take Highway 580 West towards Oakland.
Take the Harrison Street exit.
Turn left on Grand Avenue.
Merge onto Bellevue Avenue.
Turn right at the park entrance to Fairyland.
From Highway 880
Take Highway 880 to the Oak Street exit.
Turn right onto Oak Street which turns into Lakeside Drive.
Continue on Lakeside Drive. Stay to the right of Harrison Street.
Turn right on Grand Avenue.
Turn right into Bellevue Avenue at the Fairyland Entrance.
From San Francisco/Richmond
Take Highway I-80 East ramp towards Oakland.
Merge onto I-80 East.
Take the I-580 East exit towards CA-24/Downtown Oakland/Hayward-Stockton.
Merge onto MacArthur Boulevard and turn right on Grand Avenue immediately.
Turn left on Bellevue Avenue at the Fairyland enterance.
