Parks and Recreations Shining Star 
For more than 4 years, Raquel Martinez has been providing outstanding service, knowledgeable information to the public and patrons, generosity and dedication to her job for the City of Oakland.
These qualifications have earned her the recognition of May’s Spotlighted Shining Star for the City of Oakland, Office of Parks and Recreation. Raquel, who now serves as a Public Service Representative for Central Reservations, is being honored for her outstanding contributions and support to OPR. She was nominated by staff, administration and customers for decisive and exceptional customer service. Raquel takes the time to not only expedite the customer request but she does it in a friendly and helpful demeanor, letting you know that she does care and your concerns and problems are important to her.
