In order to acknowledge such outstanding performance, the Office of Parks and Recreation (OPR) features a spotlight on our services, programs, facilities, parks and recreation centers, which may be in conjunction or collaboration with a sponsor or partner.

Breht Clark, Recreation Leader II at Redwood Heights is being recognized and appreciated for taking pride in Oakland, through committed service, innovative programs, community outreach that promotes health and wellness, strengthening the community, encouraging participation in recreation activities, and selfless dedication that are beneficial to the youth and community.

Breht strives for excellence; he is a positive role model, actively involved with youth programs, day camps, and activities such as street hockey. He first became involved with the City of Oakland in 1993, through coaching and as a recreation leader. He continues to focus and dedicate his time by actively participating in programs at the center, as well as through coordinating the programs and overseeing staff for summer day camps, after school and year round programming offered at Redwood Heights.

For more than 9 years, Breht Clark has been providing outstanding service, active participation within the community, knowledgeable information to the public and patrons, dedication to his job for the City of Oakland. These qualifications have earned him the recognition of June’s Spotlighted Shining Star for the City of Oakland, Office of Parks and Recreation.

Breht is being honored for his outstanding contributions and support to OPR and the Oakland community. He was nominated by staff, administration and customers for decisive and exceptional customer service.
