Chinese New Year Stamp Unveiling Ceremony at Lincoln Square For Immediate Release Friday, January 7, 2004 Lincoln Square Recreation Center is proud to announce that it will be the site of the unveiling of the Lunar New Year Souvenir Sheet of stamps. Please join us on Friday, January 14, at 1:30 p.m. at Lincoln Square Recreation Center (located at 250 10th Street, Oakland) for the unveiling ceremony. The United States Post Office will be on hand with First Day of Issue (FDOI) lunar cachets of all 12 individualized animals as well as a zodiacal calendar FDOI cachet. They'll also have the complete set of Lunar New Year lapel pins, special framed art, Lunar Year tote bags, postcards, and of course lots of stamps. 2nd Day Cancellation will be available to commemorate this event. Ongoing entertainment will be provided by local community youth programs including a finale by the Asian Youth Services (ASC) and Asian Youth Promoting Advocacy and Leadership (AYPAL) groups. Performances will include Traditional Southern Style Chinese Lion Dancing and the 100 foot Chinese Dragon as featured in the San Francisco Chinese New Year’s Parade.
