Alameda County Community Heroes Friday, January 16, 2004 American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter with the City of Oakland Fire Department Oakland ~ The City of Oakland announces the first annual Alameda County Community Heroes Recognition Event honoring individuals, businesses and organizations in the community who have shown courage and character through their acts of heroism. The event will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at the Oakland Airport Hilton. Life Saving Act Courageous Act Act of Kindness (Adult/Child) Community Service Award The Oakland Fire Department is proud to join with the Red Cross in organizing this first hero award event for Alameda County.
