Plan a Pathway for Park Boulevard
For Immediate Release
on Wednesday, January 17, 2007

Please join Glenview neighbors and friends at a special community workshop to review a proposed Pedestrian and Bicycle Pathway along Upper Park Blvd. (from Leimert Blvd. to Monterey Blvd.)

Saturday, January 27, 2007
9 am to Noon
Zion Lutheran Church
5201 Park Blvd.

It has been a longterm goal to develop a trail from the ridge to the Bay within the Sausal Creek watershed so that residents can enjoy the natural beauty and cultural richness of our neighborhoods.

A key component of this vision is a bicycle/pedestrian pathway along Park Blvd. from Leimert Blvd. to Monterey Blvd. There is already an informal trail overlooking Dimond Canyon and the Montclair Golf Course. Last year, Councilmember Jean Quan commissioned Landscape Designer Gillian Garro to develop a conceptual plan for the Park Blvd. trail that is wide enough for both pedestrians and bicyclists, yet protects them from vehicular traffic on busy Park Blvd. Ms. Garro has developed a concept that takes advantage of the natural vistas along the .6 mile stretch and makes improvements to parking and bus zones near the Zion Lutheran Church.

If you plan to attend the meeting, please RSVP to Sue Piper at (510) 238-7042.
