Bonsai Garden Tours Saturday, February 14, 2004 Oakland ~ Through a partnership with the City of Oakland and the Golden State Bonsai Federation the bonsai garden is made possible, with a variety of beautifully placed trees and stones that are changed throughout the year. The bonsai garden is located inside of Lakeside Park along Lake Merritt, next to the demonstration gardens at the Garden Center at 666 Bellevue Avenue in Oakland. While enjoying the unique beauty of the Japanese Garden, please take advantage of the surrounding grounds at the Garden Center. Which also offers a small, peaceful waterfall with benches and shaded trees, a water fountain, a sundial, a Koi pond, the butterfly garden, a vegetable and fruit demonstration garden (with two access points into Lake Merritt) and a variety of trees, shrubs, and flowers.
