KFRC to Host 'Radiothon' for Kids Posted in the Piedmonter a publication of the Contra Costa Times on Monday, February 23, 2004 Written by Cindee de la Vara Supporters of Children's Hospital and Research Center at Oakland are asking for volunteers to staff pledge phones during a special fund-raising event. The "KFRC for Kids Radiothon" will be broadcast live, featuring families from Piedmont, Montclair and other communities, as well as on-air personalities such as Cammy and Dean, Sue Hall and Bobby Ocean. More than 400 volunteers are needed for the four-day radiothon to answer phones and help with other activities. Employee groups, as well as college and high school students are encouraged to volunteer. "This is another way people can participate in their support of Children's Hospital," said Piedmont resident and hospital spokesperson Cathy Meyer. "It's great for kids to do." Hospital personnel also invite members of the community to contact them if they have a story they'd like to tell about their experience at Children's Hospital Oakland; send e-mail to cmeyer## @mail.cho.org.
