Math-Science Conference for Middle School Girls Posted in The Oakland Tribune on Tuesday, March 02, 2004 Written By Oakland Tribune Staff Writers Girls in grades six through eight are invited to register for a conference at Mills College on March 13 designed to increase girls' interest in math and science courses and careers. Middle school girls from Alameda and Contra Costa counties are invited to participate. Last year, more than 28,000 girls attended similar conferences throughout the country. The local event will be held from 8:30 am to 3:15 pm. A $10 fee covers materials and lunch. Scholarships are available.
