Building Communities
Great parks build strong communities. Oakland Parks Coalition wants to empower the residents to play an active role in caring for their parks. This workday is an opportunity to make a difference in Oakland parks.

Additionally, Oakland Parks Coalition intends to create a more visible presence in the community and to help identify active park users both for the clean-up day and for year round involvement in preserving our natural resources. The Parks Coalition would like to invite volunteers to become ongoing stewards of the parks through the stewardship program.

Oakland Parks Coalition was formed in 2002 by volunteers committed to bringing meaningful improvement to the condition of Oakland's parks. The Parks Coalition operates under the umbrella of the Friends of Oakland Parks & Recreation, with the support from the Trust for Public Land and National Parks Services.

Please continue to Keep Oakland Beautiful all year long.
