Health, College Fair Set for East Oakland Posted in the Oakland Tribune on Friday, April 02, 2003 Written by Oakland Tribune Staff Writers Oakland ~ Nonprofits, physicians and colleges are joining forces to host a Health and College Fair on Saturday in East Oakland. Information booths will be staffed 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Eastmont Town Center, 7200 Bancroft Ave. More than a dozen physicians and medical assistants will be available for health screenings, including free immunizations, and other health-related information. "There will also be representatives from 20 colleges, including six historically black colleges" said Letitia Henderson of the Eastmont College Resource Zone, one of the fair's sponsors. Other sponsors include Oakland Head Start, the Tzu Chi Foundation, KQED, the UC Health and Wellness Initiative, Merritt College and the Havenscourt Community Partnership.
