Cinco De Mayo Celebration Tuesday, April 20, 2004 Oakland ~ The City of Oakland, Office of Parks and Recreation proudly announces and invites everyone to attend the Open House & Cinco De Mayo Celebration on Saturday, May 1, 2004 from 12:00 p.m. through 4:00 p.m. at Tassafaronga Recreation Center which is located at 975 – 85th Avenue in East Oakland. Tassafaronga will be holding an open house which will highlight leisurely activities, educational programs, and recreational opportunities for the entire family, so come and join us for an extraordinary event. Come and enjoy a fun filled day to include a Mariachi band, dancing, games, food, piñatas, arts & crafts, entertainment and so much more. “We would like everyone to join us at the first annual Cinco De Mayo community event at Tassafaronga Recreation Center.” ~ Fle Taylor, Tassafaronga Recreation Center Director Tassafaronga recreational and enriching programs include Head Start, after-school homework assistance and academic support, year-round adult fitness, teen leadership workshops, elementary school basketball league, and so much more.
