Oakland Cinco de Mayo Celebration Slated Near City Hall
Friday, April 30, 2004

The city of Oakland and Amigos Chicano/Latino Employees Association presents a Cinco de Mayo fiesta from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, in front of Oakland City Hall, 14th and Broadway in downtown Oakland.

Welcome speeches followed by a program of live entertainment featuring the '60s hit band Rudy Madrid and the Cruisers, with special guest appearances by local female vocalists, Leah and Estrella Ramos, and recording artist, Manuel Romero. Mexican food, traditional arts and crafts displays and a variety of community information tables will fill the plaza. Admission is free.
