Open House & Celebration
Oakland ~ Tassafaronga Recreation Center proudly presented a very special open house and Cinco De Mayo celebration on Saturday, May 1, 2004 from 12:00 ~ 4:00 p.m. The recreation center is located in East Oakland at 975 – 85th Avenue.

This much anticipated event at Tassafaronga was very successful with 125 participants attending the open house which helped to highlight leisurely activities, educational programs, and recreational opportunities for the entire family (from tiny tots to the young at heart).

Participants had a chance to enjoy an array of fresh hot tamales, nachos, hot dogs and light refreshments. Art projects were available and made possible by Studio One Art Center. To the delight of children there were three special jumpers on hand. This event truly succeeded in bringing the community out to Tassafaronga recreation center, allowing patrons to see all of the wonderful programming and recreational activities available at the center.

The program of activities included a festive Mariachi band, dancing, games, food and light refreshments, piñatas, arts & crafts, and a variety of entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
