Youth Musical Group Concert Slated Posted on the Contra Costa Times Website on Tuesday, May 18, 2004 The Oakland Youth Orchestra celebrates its 40th anniversary season at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 23, at the Calvin Simmons Theatre, 10 Tenth St. Musicians Danielle Taylor and Jiebing Chen will perform. The concert will be conducted by Michael Morgan and the OYO's young resident conductor, Bryan Nies. Tickets are $8 ~ $12. OYO is comprised of 78 music students, ages 12 - 21, from more than 30 cities and 46 schools throughout the Bay Area.
