Mulberry Branch is apart of Children's Hospital Branches Inc. that raises money for the Oakland-based hospital. The group sees the hospital as an asset to the region, calling it the most comprehensive pediatric medical care center between Seattle and Los Angeles.

All money raised goes directly to hospital programs and services, with Mulberry Branch volunteers helping decide where the money is most needed.

Tickets for the Alameda County Fair Preview Party are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. Champagne, wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served from 6:30 to 8:00 pm Thursday, June 24, followed by coffee and desserts from 8:30 to 9:30 pm.

Held the night before the official opening of the county fair, the event gives guests the chance to be among the first to see art displays, hobby collections, agricultural exhibits and floricultural displays at the fair.

There will be dancing in the Court of Four Seasons, and a quintet of musicians, consisting of hospital doctors and staff members, will perform in the gardens. Cocktail attire is suggested.
