Warriors Camp Posted on the Golden State Warriors website on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 The Golden State Warriors will be offering Warriors Basketball Camp this summer for boys and girls ages 8-16 of all skill levels and abilities. They will be providing 14 sessions at seven various locations throughout the Bay Area including Oakland, Pleasanton and San Ramon. Proceeds will benefit the Warriors Foundation. The 2004 edition of Warriors Basketball Camp has been expanded to seven locations throughout Northern California. The popular youth camp, which began in 2000, will make its summer debut in Larkspur, Santa Rosa and Pleasanton, while also continuing to expand in Newark, San Ramon, Saratoga and Oakland. A total of 14 camp sessions will take place during the seven-city, three month camp tour. The schedule is highlighted by nine general sessions which focus on individual skill development, the importance of fundamentals and the development of a healthy team attitude for boys and girls, ages 8-16, of all skill levels and abilities. Warriors Basketball Camp will also host several popular “specialty” sessions, including a Guard Camp, Parent/Child Camp, two High-Potential sessions (boys 11-17) and a Future Stars Camp (ages 5-8). Each specialty session is scheduled to take place at the Warriors practice facility in Downtown Oakland. Camp attendees have totaled more than 4,500 youth since it's inception in the summer of 2000 with kids traveling from from as far away as Japan, Portugal and France to participate. The staff at Warriors Basketball Camp is made up of current high school and college coaches, as well as current and former local college players. Most sessions of Warriors Basketball Camp also feature appearances by current and former Warriors players and coaches.
