Sales Tax Increase for the City of Oakland City of Oakland Purchasing Section Friday, June 18, 2004 Oakland ~ The City of Oakland announces that as of July 1, 2004 the Alameda County sales and use tax rate will increase from 8.25% to 8.75%. This notice is to inform City associates charged with purchasing and processing of payment request responsibilities of the following changes. The new sales and use tax rate applies to all material and certain services received or performed within the City of Oakland effective July 1, 2004. Please take this into consideration for all orders not placed and received by midnight June 30, 2004, which must reflect the new rate. For additional information on the appropriate sales and tax use rate, please contact the Purchasing Section at (510) 238-7566. |
