For the fourth year in a row and sixth time in 10 years, Russ Kiernan won the Dick Houston Memorial Woodminster Race at Joaquin Miller Park.

Sunday's 9-mile cross country race race through the Oakland Hills was the 40th annual and the final leg of the East Bay Triple Crown.

The race is handicapped based on gender and age.

Kiernan, 67, finished the race in 1 hour, 10 minutes and 14 seconds.

Steve Moreno, 28, won the open male division with a time of 54:07. Joe Schieffer, 54, was the top male senior (1:08.15).

Jenny Wong, 30, finished first in the open female category in 1:06.08 and Jamie Berns, 54, was the top female senior (1:12.48).

Trophies were also awarded to the top high school finishers. Oakland High's Thomas Dileo was tops among boys in 58:59 and Berkeley's Kadhja Bonet was the top girl finisher (1:18.13).

The top team plaque was earned by Tamalpa, which had 35 finishers.

The Tilden Park Tough Ten (10 miles) and the Lake Chabot Trail Challenge (13.5) were the other parts of the triple crown.

The Woodminster is the oldest cross country race in the East Bay. Next year it is slated to be run on June 18.
